A dream project conceptualized by Ex Railway men way back in 1961 and registered as Cooperative housing Society . Thereafter hunt for suitable land within the economic frame of middle class railway employees was initiated & over a period of time, A Land Parcel at the present locations was identified.
The founder members whose efforts resulted in the Present day Railway Men’s Cooperative Housing Society “Surya Kiran” as follows;

Railway Engineers self-built the present Society Buildings on their own efforts, consisting of Three wings A, B, C, on plot 104 , 105, 106 of the present day Model Town in the year 1974 with a strength of 40 members consisting of families with bonded affinity to the Railways .
The present structure has stood the weather vagaries of over four decades and time has come to refurbish and built with ultra-modern facilities on a plot size of Approx. One Acre, one of the largest plots in Model town situated at prime location just opposite Sangitkar Mohile Garden with 80 feet wide road in front and with a prominent Corner at a Junction with no possibility of any structure to be hinder the Wonderful Versova Sea View from 10th floor onwards.
The land is situated on collector lease land with possibility for free hold as per recent Gazette notification of Maharastra Government.
